TNRefinED parent-led PAC endorses Christiane Buggs for School Board District 5

TNRefinED sees a clear choice for excellence in the District 5 school board race. Christiane Buggs has a personal and professional history in the district that gives her a deep understanding of the diverse community. Her time as an educator gives her first hand knowledge of the needs of students and the public schools they attend. Christiane’s passion for student success and her high energy is a breath of fresh air for District 5 and will make her an exceptional representative for the community.

About Christiane Buggs

Christiane Buggs is a Nashville native, graduate of Martin Luther King, Jr. Magnet High School and certified teacher. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Physics, a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Tennessee State University and an additional Master of Education in Teaching and Learning in Urban Schools from Vanderbilt University. After serving in the classroom at Smithson Craighead Academy charter school and Neely’s Bend Middle School, Christiane continues to advocate for public education as a volunteer, tutor, coach and Assistant Director of Tennessee State University’s TRIO Programs, which provides tutorial services for MNPS students in Title I schools. She is the dance teacher at Lee Chapel AME Church, a member of the Urban League Young Professionals of Middle Tennessee, Board Member for the YMCA Black Achievers and member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
